The final two outdoor adventures would take place during Hockey Weekend Across America, which runs Feb. 28 to March 2. The Pittsburgh Penguins will take on the Chicago Blackhawks at Soldier Field on March 1.

hmm, Olympics end February 23, so no conflict.

I've heard the biggest obstacle to the Olympics is the cost to insure the players.

Might be close to 100K/ NHL player.

They are going to milk the outdoor game until what little novelty left is gone.

Why are the Rangers going to be the road team against the Devils in a game at Yankee Stadium?  That makes no sense.

It was gone after the first one in Edmonton.  It is stupid...but it makes money.

And I'm still fretting about not holding a Winter Classic game at Mellon Arena before it was torn down. If there ever comes a day when the Consol Energy Center comes to old age, and it will, I hope they will build another Igloo, with a retractable dome.

I like the outdoor games if the weather cooperates, and if it gets more people interested in hockey then I am all for it.

Well the retractable dome didn't work any longer so they would have had to dump a ton of money into the place to move the scoreboard and get the dome in working order.

Well I assume this is when the new alternate jerseys will debut since they are done with the current ones.

I guess the Trib was wrong.

I'm pretty sure they've already done that.

Wow I didn't realize there was going to 15 of these things next season.

Way to ruin a good thing in the Winter Classic NHL.

I watch the Winter Classic and I like the lead-ups with the HBO specials. I just worry that this is too much. They have found something they consider successful and are going to beat everyone in the face with it until they say we don't like this anymore.

I also don't like the fact that the Penguins are doing one in March. I know it's early, but games are getting more important, and the potential for shitty ice goes up.

I'm pretty sure they've already done that.

If there is one thing the NHL does well it's bring in new viewers.

Being from Milwaukee and not getting to see the Guins play live that often, I will likely pay the ridiculous amount to go to this game.

It would be golden to go into that sea of dip$h1t redshirted drunk @ssh0les and watch their team lose to the Pens. Cannot stand Chicago. Everything about that city and the losers who live there.

So glad to see Phoenix beat the hawks tonight. Just wish they had done it in regulation.

I didn't even know they had Jimmies in Milwaukee.

I think this is a good idea for one or two seasons. Let all the teams which would NEVER have a chance to be in a Winter Classic (due to no National interest), such as the Blues or the Avs or the Isles a chance to experience an outdoor game. It's great for the fans of those markets and will make some $$$ for the NHL. Then, after a couple years of multiple outdoor games, go back to just the Winter Classic game.

That being said, I don't like the Rangers playing outdoors twice in a week.

Every time Malkin gets an assist, a little angel dies.
